Four suspects are facing grand theft charges after deputies responded to a report of an in-progress theft at a legally permitted marijuana cultivation site in Calaveras County, California. The incident was reported by an observer who saw a man on the property. Deputies established a perimeter, called for air assistance, and deployed a canine named Titan. Titan located one of the suspects near a cut portion of the fence. Deputies, with Titan’s assistance, found another suspect hiding in dense foliage. A third suspect was taken into custody without incident. An air unit located a fourth suspect hiding in a tree. All the suspects face multiple charges, including grand theft, conspiracy, and drug-related charges.
