Fidelity Bank Plc continues to solidify its leadership in the exports sector, having received the prestigious Export Finance Bank of the Year award at the 2023 BusinessDay and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards. The bank was honored with this accolade during a dinner event held in Lagos over the weekend.

The BAFI Awards, now in its 10th year, serves as a notable measure of distinction for entities within the Nigerian financial services industry. These awards recognize and celebrate organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance in delivering financial services in Nigeria, according to a statement by BusinessDay Media Limited, the organizers of the awards.

Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, expressed her gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to the bank’s customers who rely on them for crucial support in navigating the global non-oil exports market. She emphasized the bank’s unwavering commitment to its mission of empowering individuals, inspiring business growth, and contributing to economic prosperity.

It is noteworthy that Fidelity Bank recently hosted the second edition of its non-oil exports expo, named the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC), in Houston, Texas, USA. During this two-day event, the bank inked a significant cocoa pre-export agreement with AFREXIM Bank and JohnVents Industries, valued at $40 million, marking a groundbreaking development in the exports sector, as acknowledged by industry analysts.

FITCC Houston featured over 160 Nigerian and US-based businesses showcasing their products, along with panel discussions to strategize the expansion of Nigerian businesses exporting to the US market. Recognizing Fidelity Bank’s commitment to promoting bilateral trade and economic development between Nigeria and the USA through the FITCC initiative, the Mayor of the City of Houston, Sylvester Turner, proclaimed October 25, 2023, as FITCC Day in Houston, Texas.

Fidelity Bank, acclaimed as one of Nigeria’s top financial institutions, serves more than eight million customers through its 251 business offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as well as digital banking channels. The bank has garnered numerous local and international awards, including the Best Payment Solution Provider Nigeria 2023 and Best SME Bank Nigeria 2022 from the Global Banking and Finance Awards, as well as Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria by the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2023, and Best Domestic Private Bank in Nigeria by the Euromoney Global Private Banking Awards 2023.
