Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has invited foreign investors to invest in Nigeria’s agricultural sector. He highlighted the country’s vast agricultural potential, with 70 million hectares of underutilized arable land, which accounts for 75% of the country’s total land area. Speaking at the 2023 Norman Borlaug International Dialogue in the United States, Shettima emphasized the government’s commitment to agribusiness and food security.
He also mentioned various initiatives and policies aimed at attracting investors, including zero import duties on agricultural machinery, preferential financing, tax incentives, and foreign investment-friendly regulations. The Vice President expressed Nigeria’s readiness for agribusiness and urged investors to take advantage of the opportunities the country offers.
