Senator Abubabar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning in Nigeria, spoke at the closing briefing of the 29th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#29) about the resilience of Nigerians in the face of daunting challenges. He emphasized that increased confidence and investment by the private sector would help the country overcome its current security issues. While acknowledging the security challenges in Nigeria, he pointed out that no place in the world is entirely free from security issues.
He also highlighted the importance of investment and confidence in the country’s economy to combat insecurity and create economic opportunities. Bagudu mentioned examples of regions like Borno State and the Niger Delta, where economic activity and investment have helped address insecurity and improve the livelihoods of the people.
