Professor Joe Tomlinson, a legal scholar from the University of York, has been awarded the Philip Leverhulme Prize in Law by the Leverhulme Trust. Professor Tomlinson is recognized for his work in administrative law and justice, as well as socio-legal studies. His research focuses on public perceptions of fairness in government decision-making and how government bodies, courts, and the law respond to complex societal challenges. The prize includes £100,000 for research expenses, research assistance, or teaching replacement over two or three years. Professor Tomlinson plans to use the prize money to create opportunities for early career administrative law scholars.
