The Development Research Projects Center (dRPC) has called on new members of parliament to consolidate efforts to strengthen the primary health care system for efficient service delivery. Dr. Stanley Ukpai, the Director of Projects Development at dRPC, emphasized that while the previous administration worked to entrench the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for universal health coverage, there are still gaps that need to be addressed to enhance the system’s efficiency.
A Two-day Strategic Retreat of the principal officers of the National Assembly was organized by the Legislative Network for Universal Health Coverage in collaboration with dRPC to develop the Legislative Health Agenda of the 10th national assembly health committees. This event aimed to facilitate the transition of projects and knowledge transfer from the previous assembly to the new set of legislators, promoting continuity and the consolidation of gains achieved in the healthcare sector.
