Rolls-Royce has announced its plans to eliminate up to 2,500 jobs globally in an effort to become a “more efficient and effective” company. The engineering giant, which produces aircraft engines and has a significant presence in the UK, was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic when air travel came to a halt for several months.
While the company did not specify where the job cuts would take place, it is anticipated that hundreds of back-office positions in the UK will be affected. Rolls-Royce aims to streamline its operations, remove duplication, and achieve cost efficiencies as part of its transformation journey.
