The requirements for a minor are determined by the academic unit offering the minor. Substitutions may not be made without the written consent of the subordinate department. Minors must include at least fifteen hours of lessons, including at least nine hours at the higher level (course numbers 300 or more). Units offering a minor may require specific courses and/or require a minimum performance standard for courses taken to meet minor requirements (e.g., “A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for all courses credited to the minor” or “A grade of “C” or higher must be obtained in all courses credited to the minor”). Minor courses cannot be passed/failed. This minor is not available for students majoring in economics. The Master`s programme offers specialisations in pure and applied mathematics, each with different requirements. Master`s programs are aimed either at students who intend to pursue a PhD in mathematics or at those seeking employment in education, government, or industry. Multidisciplinary students choose 3 minors instead of a major. Students work with an advisor to design a path that best suits their career goals. RBA students can choose a minor to adjust their degree. Students cannot acquire a minor subject in the same field as their major.
Courses required to complete the student`s major may be applied to the completion of a minor as long as that minor is not in the same field (i.e., offered by the same academic unit) as the major. Each minor must have at least 9 unique credit hours which are different from other academic qualifications. The Early Childhood Development Certificate provides academic training for those who wish to work with children in pre-K classes in public schools, Head Start programs, or daycares. The certificate is self-contained or can be applied to degree requirements if you are pursuing a bachelor`s degree in the field. Students declare minors upon entry into their main field of study. A student interested in completing a minor (or minor) will work with the Senior Advisor to accommodate smaller requirements in the schedule. Students who wish to pursue a minor in Music, Women`s Studies, Leadership Studies, or ROTC should work directly with advisors for these programs.
The minor is for the student who wants the widest possible musical experience. Courses in applied music, music history, and music theory are also balanced in this program.
