Friday, May 1, 2020, has been announced as a public holiday by the Federal Government to mark 2020’s International Workers’ Day Celebration.
This was declared on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
Adesoji Aregbesola applauded Nigerian workers for their strength, tolerance, and compassion in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah. In particular, he commended the workers for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and its effort towards mitigating the spread of the Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Additionally, the Minister expressed his appreciation to Nigerians and the labor force for their sacrifices during this daring time. He also asserted that their sacrifices is a boost to the feats of the Government and other partners during these unprecedented times.
He continued by saying that Nigerians’ compliance with established regulation to curb the spread will not go unmentioned and urging that this time too shall pass.
Aregbesola expressed positivity for an economic boost at post-COVID-19 as normalcy is gradually been restored.
He, therefore, encouraged Nigerians to stay positive.
