Charges against a popular musician Azeez Fashola, fondly called Naira Marley, and a politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi by the Lagos State government has been revoked.
Recall that Business Influx reported last week of a viral video featuring Naira Marley in Funke Akindele’s party and was asked to report to the police station.
It was discovered that Gbadamosi and his wife were also present at the party. However, Naira Marley and Gbadamosi together with his wife were prosecuted to the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court situated in Ogba for violating the government’s mandate of social distancing which was set to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
However, according to one of the defense counsel, Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), the government rescinded the four counts filed against the three defendants.
Briefing pressmen, Adegboruwa explained that the charge against the defendants was withdrawn on the bases that an apology will be tendered to President Buhari and the State Governor.
He said, “the state withdrew the charges on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.”
