43 Nigeria’s cabinet ministers have donated 50% of their March 2020 salaries to support Federal Government ‘s fight against the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. This was confirmed in a statement issued by Segun Adeyemi, the Special Assistant to the President, Office of the Minister of information and Culture.
According to the Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who quoted the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, the coordinator of the donation, he revealed that the motion was a form of solidarity and backing towards the Federal Government’s endeavors to tackling the pandemic.
“This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources and support one another. This will facilitate an early resolution of the problem, “Mohammed Lai quoting Senator Gbemisola Saraki.
