The Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte announced on Monday that all of Italy would be placed on total lockdown following the spread of Coronavirus around the city.
The northern region of Lombardy and 14 other provinces had already been placed under lockdown earlier last week but this new decree will extend those restrictions across the entire country, as the virus continues to spread throughout Italy and mainland Europe.
So far, Italy has 9,172 cases and 463 deaths the highest of any country outside of China.
The lockdown is focused on reducing the spread of the Virus across the city and the world.
It is worthy of note that the index case of coronavirus in Nigeria was from an Italian traveling from Milan to Lagos Nigeria.
