Iran has temporary released 70,000 Prisoners over the growing spread of coronavirus.
This virus which has killed over 230 people in Iran with more than 100,000 infected globally. This release is part of a government-controlled measure to control the spread of growing disease.
With more than 7,500 cases outside of China many of which are from Iran, Italy and South Korea this measure is believed to help curtail the spread as containing an outbreak like Covid-19 in Prisons would be nearly impossible.
In a statement by the Judicial chief Ebrahim Raisi, he noted that the release had become necessary for the country to respond to the deadly disease.
