The United Kingdom Security Agency has confirmed that it has shot down the man who stabbed several people on London Bridge on Friday afternoon.
The incident happened at about 1 pm at the London Bridge. Scotland yard police tagged it as an “act of terrorism”.
Eyewitnesses said they saw what they believed to be a fight between several men trying to restrain another man.
Armed police were called into the scene, after few rounds of shot, they confirmed they had shot the suspect.
Scotland Yard said: “At this stage, the circumstances relating to the incident at London Bridge remain unclear.”
“However, as a precaution, we are currently responding to this incident as though it is terror-related. One man has been shot by police. We will provide further information when possible.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been informed about the situation and is currently being updated.
Boris Johnson confirmed this as he released a statement.
“I’m being kept updated on the incident at London Bridge and want to thank the police and all emergency services for their immediate response.”
Home Secretary Priti Patel added she was “very concerned”.
He said: “Very concerned by the ongoing incident at London Bridge. My thoughts are with all affected. I am grateful for the rapid response of our police and I urge everyone to follow their advice.”
