The sand teranga lions of Senegal has for the second time in a row won the Copa Lagos beach soccer tournament, after they won the 2019 edition on Sunday 3rd of November 2019.
The Senegalese won all their games to emerge first position in the 2019 edition which was held at the Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
Nigeria beat current beach soccer world champions Brazil 6 – 5 to win the second position in the annual tournament.
Senegal had earlier won the Brazilians 5 – 4 in their first game, then they beat Nigeria 5 – 2 in their second game, and later defeated the three Lions of England 3 – 2 in their last game.
Nigerian striker Emeka Ogbonna emerged the highest goal scorer of the tournament after he provided the Nigerian side with seven goals in the tournament.
Governor Babajide Sanwolu of Lagos State was present at the event to watch the final match, and to hand over the trophy to the Champions of the tournament.
The Super Sand Eagles used the 2019 edition of the tournament to prepare for the 2019 Beach soccer World Cup, where they would be up against Brazil, Oman, and Portugal in group D.
