Terrorist group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have announced a new leader to succeed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who was killed early this week.
The jihadist group confirmed the death of Baghdadi via a released video before announcing that Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurash will be his successor.
Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump had earlier announced that Baghdadi’s second in command had already been killed.
Experts have also suggested the same thing as they claim that the name “Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurash” is not familiar.
However, Charles Lister, a Senior Fellow, Director of Countering Terrorism & Extremism program at the Middle East Institute in Washington DC claimed that the new leader is “descendants of the Prophet Mohammed’s Quraysh tribe.”
At the end of the video, the jihadists vowed to revenge on the United States.
