People said Nigeria is the worst country in the world. No electricity, no water, no money, no good roads, no education, no employment, no hospital, no good leadership, no radio, no television, no nitrogen, oxygen, not even hydrogen. What more are we to say? Is it the fact that the government chooses to sack doctors rather than sack EBOLA? Everyone is frustrated, everywhere is frustrating.
While we are yet speaking, Ebola took a stroll into Nigeria. What an opportunity to die and just quit a bad country? What an opportunity to just hug an Ebola victim and count the days to leave Nigeria? This has worsened the whole situation. The country is no longer secured, people prefer to go about on overall garment and eye-glasses rather than find a solution to the impending predicament.
Instead, people are still scared of dying. No handshake, no hugging, no sitting too close to anybody. Even pastors stopped laying hands on their congregation. Holy Communion canceled! Crusades postponed! People now take their both ninety times in a week. Emergency Hygiene Declared! Bushmeat sellers in trouble. Squirrels and monkeys are holding thanksgiving service. Kola-nuts turn gold. Salt becomes a star. People would prefer to eat their neighbor’s feces than die of EBOLA!
More so, we know Nigeria lacks adequate infrastructure, we prefer it that way than to die of Ebola which we barely know its origin. We still believe in Nigeria. We have faith that there will be a revolution. Despite the challenges facing our country, it is still better than DEATH. Despite the inadequate infrastructure, it is far better than EBOLA! Because when there is life, there is still hope of development. It simply means ………………………………………………………
BETTER DAYS ARE AHEAD!
